If you have not renewed your real estate license and it’s not your first renewal your Florida real estate license will go into involuntary inactive status,  (involuntary means not by your choice) you must cease all real estate services immediately while you are in “involuntary inactive status.”  Involuntary Inactive status is applied to licensees who have failed to complete the prior renewal cycle requirements for continuing education and/or fees and are in their last 24 months of licensing. Initial Renewal: After receiving your license, your initial renewal requires post license education: 45 hours for Sales Associates Licenses60 hours for Broker & Broker Associates Licenses Post license education can be completed through distance education (online courses)  or classroom. The only exemption is someone with a 4 year degree, or higher, in real estate. All the candidates who pass a sales associates or broker licensure examination must satisfactorily complete a Commission prescribed post-licensing educational course prior to first renewal following initial licensure. For a sales associate, the post-licensing education course shall consist of one or more Commission approved course which total at least 45 classroom hours, and for a broker, the courses shall total at least 60 classroom hours.
